I once had to do a Strength Finder test at work. The aim of the exercise was to discover your best qualities and to think about how you can implement them well into your Daily Doing. Well, one of those was "Information Sharing". One of my skills is researching a topic and then dissemenating the information with my team. That's right, I'm a professional *Oversharer*.

I was surprised to find that "Drinking too much on a School Night" was not on the list of identified strengths. It certainly should have been.

So if you combine those two, what do you get?

****TIPSY TIPS****

Welcome to your new drink guide to help you find the best bars in your area. We're starting off in Hamburg, as of course, I'm still here! Emphasis on the still. These have been the best bars in Hamburg that I've visited in the past few months. I'm a fan of mixing it up, but these are all cocktail bars and exceptional at that. And no, it's not escaped me that all three bars are in the same postcode. Without giving away too much, I am a big fan of Googling "bars near me" and these are the results. What can I say? I'm lazy.

Drip Bar

Antonistraße 4, 20359 Hamburg Deutschland

This place is the definition of a Hipster's paradise. All drinks are made with liquor that have been distilled over a lond period of time, using the same method used with a cold brew coffee. This results in some delightfully interesting mixes - for example, a fresh take on an Espresso Martini and a Negroni with a twist.

It's definitely on the pricier end (think 10-15€ per cocktail), but very yummy and great on a summer's evening. So, considering the weather we've been having, maybe bookmark this one for Aug '24.

Walrus Bar

Wohlwillstraße 47 20359 Hamburg

This is a classic cocktail bar, chic on the inside, graffiti-ed on the inside. The definition of a "Hidden Treasure". This place has Dual-Income-No-Kids vibes, which is only reinforced by the clientele. It's a smoker bar, with drinks around the 13€ mark, which makes it quite the juxtaposition in my mind. This bar has strictly own-inventions only and there are some truly wild combinations. I wouldn't recommend it for those that enjoy your classic sweet cocktail, but if you're open to some new tastes, this place is a must. I'd particularly recommend it for a first date. If all other conversation fails, at least you can chat about the cocktail combos and interesting names!

Great service too. The staff were really patient and passionate about the drinks and were able to consult (side note:consult, is consult the right word? I told you I'm losing my English) in depth on the right cocktail for your tastes.

Chug Club

Taubenstraße 13, 20359 Hamburg Deutschland

This place is FAB. And anyone who knows me and my lexicon, knows that "Fab" is truly the highest praise I can bestow. All drinks are made using either Mezcal or Tequila, and this team have rustled up some AMAZING concoctions. They have the classics, but most of the menu is composed of new innovations, using a variety of ingredients.

The margarita is exactly as you'd want it. A bit pricier than in other places, but it's a decent size and they don't skimp on the alcohol content.

If you're coming for the first time, I would recommend getting one of their flights. You can then get three random cocktails, which act as a great introduction to the menu. We spoke with the waiter about the allergies we had, and he was able to adapt the cocktails we tried to suit our needs. So top service to boot.

It's not situated on the prettiest street on Hamburg. On one side you get a nice view of a Schanzenbäckerei and on the other a glimspe of Spielbudenplatz, BUT, inside is nice and cosy. Be warned though, space becomes very limited on a Friday and Saturday evening (with good reason!).

***Tipsy Tipple***

Drink of the month - look how happy it makes me!

My favourite Tipple at the moment (alcoholic beverage for those non-Brits of you) is the Sarti Spritz. (It's embarrassing to admit, but my dozy brain has rechristened it the "Satre Spritz". It was only until Googling just now, that I realised the actual spelling!)

The Sarti spritz is like the sweeter version of the Aperol spritz. And pink. Very pink. The perfect Barbie drink ya might say. It's made using "Sarti Rose", an aperitif mix of mango, blood orange and passion fruit and is another Italian special. Just like it's original counterpart, Aperol, it's mixed up with Prosecco and sparkling water.

Where can I find said Sarti Spritz in Hamburg, I hear you ask? I drank this particular one at "Das Lemon" in Hamburg. More on that to come soon, I'm sure.

Ta-Da

And that's all folks.
